Lanai: Hawaii's Hidden Gem - A Return to Paradise

I've always been drawn to the allure of Hawaii, but sometimes, the bustling tourist hubs can overshadow the serene beauty that once defined these islands. That's why my recent trip to Lanai felt like stepping back in time – a return to the authentic, unspoiled Hawaii I'd always dreamed of. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. In fact, it's a solid 10 out of 10 in my book!

The Journey to Tranquility

The adventure began at LAX, where we embarked on a journey to Honolulu. From there, a quick 30-minute flight aboard a Pilatus PC-12 whisked us away to the secluded island of Lanai. Upon arrival, a Four Seasons vehicle was waiting to transport us to the resort, setting the tone for the impeccable service we were about to experience.

Luxury Meets Island Charm at Four Seasons Lanai

Stepping into our suite at the Four Seasons Lanai was like entering a sanctuary. The contemporary island vibe, spacious layout, and thoughtful appointments created a sense of relaxed luxury. And those ocean views? Simply spectacular. A soak in the large, luxurious bathtub was the perfect way to unwind after a day of travel.

A Culinary Adventure

Lanai is a foodie's paradise. We indulged in exquisite dining experiences at Nobi Lanai, a testament to the island's evolving culinary scene (what was once a pop-up, Mozza, is now a permanent fixture!). Malibu Farms offered fresh, farm-to-table delights, adding to the diverse gastronomic offerings.

Rejuvenation and Adventure

The spa, though intimate, provided one of the best hotel massages I've ever had – a truly blissful experience. For those seeking adventure, Lanai offers a plethora of daytime activities. Golf, tennis, pickleball, ATV riding, 4x4 excursions, hiking, snorkeling, and scuba diving are just a few of the options. We particularly enjoyed a delightful sail and snorkel trip, exploring the island's stunning coastline.

A Quiet Night Under the Stars

As the sun sets, Lanai transforms into a peaceful haven. The nights are quiet, perfect for stargazing. Did you know there's even an observatory on the island? It's a testament to the island's commitment to preserving its natural beauty.

Two Havens, One Island

Lanai is home to only two hotels: the Four Seasons Lanai and Sensei Four Seasons. Convenient shuttles connect the two, allowing guests to explore both unique experiences. The weather is consistently beautiful year-round, making it an ideal destination no matter when you visit.

A Glimpse of Old Hawaii

What truly sets Lanai apart is its unspoiled charm. It reminds me of what Hawaii was before the crowds arrived – a place where nature reigns supreme and tranquility is a way of life.

My Verdict: I'll Be Back!

My second visit to Lanai only solidified my love for this hidden gem. It's a place I could return to again and again, each time discovering new facets of its beauty. If you're seeking an authentic Hawaiian experience, away from the hustle and bustle, Lanai is waiting for you.
